The Hereafter
Visit : The Hereafter
The Hereafter emerges from the creative spirits of Isi Laborde and Jeremy Dubroff. Their vision was to create a transportive and intimate space for adventurous drinking, where conversation flows as freely as the drinks. Here you can explore our thoughtful menu of craft cocktails - each embodying a narrative of their own - alongside a light dinner menu that highlights ingredients from the Hudson Valley landscape. Our shelves are stocked with a wide selection of spirits from small producers, each curated for its unique story. We exist for locals and travelers, philosophers and the adventurous; people from all walks of life. Stop by and grab a bite, or drink until the evening is late.
“Hudson was definitely where we spent the most time. We just felt like it had a sense of community and (it was) a small town full of artists or people who have a sort of artistic endeavor and the space we wanted to create was for people to be creative and engaged,” stated Laborde.
Dubroff and Laborde divided their craft cocktail menu into four categories ⎯ fun, classy, eccentric and deep ⎯ although every drink has flavors and qualities from two or more categories, Laborde admits. Fun cocktails are more approachable and “for-everybody kind of drinks,” whereas classy are more traditional cocktails. The eccentric category features funkier flavors and “deep” are the types of cocktails you’d sip on while sitting on a big leather armchair, said Laborde, who defined the bar as a watering hole for people who are open to trying new things.
Some highlights include the “fun” hell cat, which is a mezcal infused with ancho and pasilla peppers, strawberry amaro, guave lemon and agave. Classy drinks include dirty martinis and a casablanca, made with gin, fig⎯infused vermouth, walnut liqueur, orange bitters and cracked cardamon. Cocktails range from $14 to $18.
